Our guest this week on Life Simplified Radio is a man with many talents and passions, my friend, Paul Cormier. Musician, rock climber, cabinetmaker, contractor, and rescue volunteer, are a few that come to mind.
What is remarkable about Paul is not just his focus on what is in front of him, but the ease with which he goes about his day doing what he enjoys. There’s no drama or negativity. There’s no angst or wringing of hands. There is conversation, music (WMPG is always on in his shop) and steady progress towards his goal.
Being in Paul’s company is easy. He is a natural teacher who leads by example. Without realizing it, you are watching success in action, step by step.
When I asked Paul how he manages to make doing so much look so easy, he said, “One thing I do is I put labels on my time. For example, Wednesday nights from 7-10 pm we have music practice at my house. If you ask me what I am doing Wednesday night in June, it’s music practice.”
Two things he doesn’t do. “I don’t say no to doors that open. The time will find itself,” he said. “I also don’t worry about the money. If painting is your passion, you will find the money for brushes.”
Thanks to my co-host Ross Goldberg and our special guest Paul Cormier, Life Simplified Radio is off to a great start. Join us on Thursdays from 1:00-1:30 on WMPG 90.9 or WMPG.org to listen live. It’s a great life!
